POWERGEN International® announces Keynote speakers from Microsoft, U.S. Department of Energy and Entergy for its 2024 Event 

POWERGEN International, the premier event for the power generation sector, is thrilled to announce its keynote lineup for the upcoming conference, taking place January 23-25 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The lineup features dynamic thinkers and executives representing utilities, government and major power consumers. The Keynote kicks off the conference and begins at 8 a.m. on January 23.

Deanna Rodriguez, who is President and CEO of Entergy New Orleans, will first address POWERGEN attendees.

Rodriguez is responsible for the company’s reliable service, resource planning, regulatory and public affairs and more. Before her current role, Rodriguez served as vice president of regulatory and public affairs for Entergy Texas.

Entergy has partnered with POWERGEN International as Host Utility for 2024.

Next to take the stage will be Todd Noe, who is Director of Nuclear Technologies Engineering at Microsoft.

Noe is the architect of a strategic roadmap for using new nuclear energy to advance Microsoft’s goal of being carbon-negative by 2030. This includes using small modular reactors (SMRs) to power the company’s data centers.

He has extensive experience in the nuclear industry and is the former Director of Nuclear Plant Engineering at Tennessee Valley Authority.

We are also pleased to welcome Brad Crabtree to the keynote stage in 2024. Crabtree is the Assistant Secretary for the Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management, where he leads the office’s research and development.

Prior to DOE, he was at the Great Plains Institute (GPI), where he co-founded and directed the Carbon Capture Coalition.

The power sector is rapidly changing and looks to be very different even just a few years from now. The final POWERGEN keynote speaker has made the future his business.

Brian David Johnson is a futurist, an author and a professor.

He has worked with a broad range of groups, including governments, corporations, nonprofits and start-ups, to help them envision their future.

Currently, Johnson is a professor at Arizona State University’s Global Futures Laboratory and the School for the Future of Innovation in Society.
